Mayor Gonnelli's Message - 4-14-2020

Recently we asked residents to send in their videos with messages of thanks to those who have been working tirelessly during these unprecedented times. We received an outpouring of these heartwarming messages—some from our youngest residents. There were music videos, posters, songs and messages spoken with love and hope. They are truly uplifting and a great tribute to healthcare workers, police and firefighting personnel, first responders, essential workers and grocery workers for going above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic. The messages also show a sense of pride and togetherness, a blessing for all of us living in Secaucus. Tune in to the Town of Secaucus Facebook page and our website www.secaucusnj.gov/virus to view the videos. And please keep them coming; we need the positivity these videos bring.

We have also been receiving donations of much-needed masks, gloves, and sanitizers that our first responders could use during the pandemic. There are many residents and groups that have started sewing reusable cotton masks for other residents. These small acts of kindness show how strong and caring our community really is. Thank you to all those who donated. And most importantly, thank you to all residents who are staying home, wearing masks when in public, and for doing your part to stop the spread of the virus.

I truly believe we will get through this together and will be stronger and more resilient as a community.

Stay vigilant and be safe.

Mayor Michael Gonnelli
